Any mechanical differences were quickly forgotten in my case, but I guarantee that if I played Kiwami first, I wouldn't have given two hoots about certain characters. In some cases, it may have even spoiled how invested I'd be in their Zero counterparts

One thing I will say is that I 110% recommend anyone interested in the series to start with Yakuza 0 - it does a lot of the heavy lifting in terms and feeling attached to the cast

Just got done with Yakuza Kiwami!!

It was a lot of fun. I much preferred the skill-tree/upgrades this time around

However, IMO, the storytelling and general pace felt lacking compared to Zero... I wanna go into more detail on that, but spoilers 🤐
