A hill I am prepared to stand on: despite 'Song to the Siren' (the A side of this single) being sublime, I have always thought this the better of the two tracks.

Brava! There is no doubt that 'Song to the Siren' is a classic, this is, in my opinion, the far superior of the two tracks on the record.

When, at the age of 60 now, I examine my music collection, and I realise that EBTG and the various precursors account for the largest single portion of that, I realise it all started with The Marine Girls and Ben Watt on 'Pillows and Prayers.'

Mine too...many bands I had never heard before, and who thereafter became firm favourites...and the payoff of Quentin Crisp and 'A Bang and a Wimpy'...A life-changing compilation at that point in my life.
