Think about as like, Main Supports are group A and Flex Supports are group B. They dont have any defining characteristics but comps don't really work if you have two type As and two type Bs, at least at top level.

Support's definition is a lot less defined and is more about how comps are built in the professional scene. Main Support players play Main Support heroes, and Flex Support players play Flex Support heroes. It's less about what the heroes do in and of themselves and more about what pairings work well

Though Tank's subclasses have somewhat disappeared due to the switch to a 5v5 format with only one tank. DPS has Main/Flex and Support has Main/Flex. Generally from my understanding Main DPS are largely focused on putting out consistent, usually hitscan damage, whereas Flex is flank/dive/gimmick.

from my understanding, the term hyperdive in the context of overwatch is when a comp is running 2 dive focused flex DPS in comparison to the more traditional pairing of a "Flex DPS" and "Main DPS". Overwatch as a whole kinda has unofficial subclasses within Tank, DPS, and Support.
