Oh 100%. I was there when they were allowing COVID disinformation. I have no doubt that meta alone cost hundreds of people their lives.

I was in a specific queue called "proactive hate" that searched Facebook and Instagram posts for slurs. It was nasty work. The worst humanity has to offer.

I've seen a lot of videos of people dying.

The way their guidelines allowed for disinformation while silencing marginalized voices was wild. They didn't even try to hide it. The world is quantifiably worse because they exist.

It really was. I'm fortunate that I have a really great support system in my personal life, but I really feel for the people that don't. I can't imagine how hard it must be for them.

I have nightmares to this day about the shit I saw as a meta moderator. No matter how bad you think Meta is, it's far worse.

I had to watch the Christchurch shooting POV footage at least 20 times because their policy said that you HAD to. Even if you knew it was the same video, you still had to watch it again... And again... And again.

There were dozens of us watching it over and over.

No mental health support. None.

Meta has a history of torturing their moderators and providing NOTHING in the way of mental health care. How do I know? Because I used to be a moderator for Meta and I got a $3,500 settlement for the PTSD they gave me.

When we tried to unionize, they moved their moderation to the Philippines.

I'm calling it--the use of generative AI is antiblack. Internationally. Multiple countries. Multiple coasts. If you fire it up--I judge you.

As someone who has survived multiple jaw bone infections and needed several endodontic treatments for tooth infections, let me tell you that this man died in one of the most painful ways possible
