Reviving the woolly mammoth isn’t just unethical. It’s impossible | Adam Rutherford At a time when US scientists are under attack from their own government, the illiteracy around these elephantine fantasies is dangerous, says geneticist Adam Rutherford

One shouldn't underestimate how important preprints are for ECRs in applying for grants & jobs. However, it's very problematic that journalists report on preprints. When I declined to comment on a preprint of mine, as it had not been peer-reviewed, they said they were still going to write about it πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

This is a catastrophe. While Finland has downgraded the MDPI and Frontiers journals to level 0 (meaning these publications are not recognized for research evaluation purposes), Germany has signed an agreement to promote publications in MDPI journals.

Another great reason not to publish with MDPI. This kind of deviation from the protocol of ethical standards in research is unacceptable and should never pass review, neither from ethical boards nor from peer-reviewers.
