An 18th century Eastern European family is seated at the dinner table, outside in a verdant garden space. Bowls and cups are spread out on the white table cloth and they all peer down the table, towards the camera and an unseen person. 2 women wear long scarves over their hair, a young man wears a cap, and an aristocratic French houseguest in a blue jacket, white make-up, and wig is at the far end of the table.

I’ve seen so many good movies mentioned already, hard to pick a favorite-favorite. How about a French vampire film? The Vourdalak. (It’s on Kanopy to stream for free in the US if your school or library participates.)

I would look for “octagonal inlaid side table” but there are probably more specific terms, especially if you can see any brand name or mark on what you have. It’s very cute.

Picked up some Envy apples (never tried them before) & as I sit at work now munching I had to see how @chuckwendig.bsky.social ranked them. 4th amongst grocery store varieties. Fair. Also odd that my second thought after, “oh, that’s sweet” was “wonder what Chuck thinks?” He’s carved a niche.

He’s so orange with makeup perhaps they hope the deep purple-blue will play it down. Like using green primer to neutralize a ruddy complexion.

Yep, but it didn’t discourage the ticks so we also had the DEET spray.

I recall it as he let the air out of her tires, but then cajoled her into letting him give her a ride home. And now she is the (3rd?) Mrs. Watters. Just the grossest stalker behavior, although she didn’t know what he’d done when she accepted the ride, he only bragged after they were married.

Not the worst bit, but Jesse clearly hasn’t been to a McDonalds in ages because the $1 menu went bye-bye quite a while ago. What an out-of-touch creep.

Seems a good day for my Diamond Jubilee mug. Not a royalist, just a fan of corgis and I always interpreted the “Woof” word bubble as sarcastic or exhausted.

My old tabby cat agrees and he knows if he ever feels bad or even acts slightly picky I will go procure some chicken for him.

My dog is people-friendly, but I still don’t let him off leash/out of my direct control. He’s libel to knock down a child with his enthusiasm. Some dog owners shouldn’t be allowed out in public.
