Oh I’ve seen that from rightwing women before. “A man slapping his wife is just him telling her to be a better person!” America, where the men hate the women and the women hate the women.

The Free Press should be banned. That’s right, I’m calling for censorship. The experience will either teach them to be better, more compassionate writers or drive them into their holes never to be heard from again. A net gain for society whatever happens.

I mean, there is something to be said for building camaraderie with some good natured ribbing and all that, but you know good and goddamn well this piece ain’t about that. It’s about borderline and actual abuse.

It’s also right next to Coconut Grove (just across US1) so considered just as valuable, which means even a studio will be $3500 or something. It’s ridiculous.

Oh my god the people putting up apartments for rent in Miami are such fucking liars. There is no way a studio in the Roads are for only $1,000 per month looks like the generic photos of some huge luxury condo in a high rise. I used to live on that fucking street, it’s little old duplexes & sfhs.

I’m adopted, by the way, and though I came out fine I have mixed feelings about the practice as a whole just for the way it is so often an opportunity for abuse.

Note: I don’t think it was ever *illegal* to not tell a child they were adopted, but a lot of parents did that and then all hell would break loose when the kid found out. This won’t prevent that, it will just make things worse, but god forbid parents not be given even more power.

This is deranged and should not be allowed. It’s bad enough that they used to hide the records of the birth parents from the adoptee (supposedly to protect everyone from shame and scandal). But this is actual erasure of the child itself. It’s making not telling the child they’re adopted legal.

My favorite is the big font quote on a background image, with no alt text. So many old people who never learned to use quotation marks I guess.

My criteria is this: if the point of the post is knowing exactly what the picture is, put alt tex with a simple description. If it’s for ornamentation of a text post, it’s still nice to put something. If the captions are meant to be humorous, they can still be descriptive.
