Yes, I think this is the point. That, and the GCs really did massively overreach in the weeks after the SC ruling. Whilst the transphobic media reported the overreach largely uncritically, I think a lot of people who hadn't been paying much attention before had their eyes opened.

The EHRC's post-SC overreach shocked a fair few previously complacent people (including MPs), I think. There's some evidence that at least some MPs have woken up to what's going on.
