I think you’ve summarised it all rather well.

People want decent jobs with fair pay, schools that will give their kids a good start in life, bills they can afford, the prospect of some dignity in retirement, and so on.

Who uses which toilet and what's in their pants? That's the demonstrably absurd obsession of a tiny, privileged minority.

IMHO polite, measured confidence is the best way to approach things. And leave the door open for the other party to find a remedy, at least initially.

My issue is as much about (poor) communication as it is about substance, but there are strong suggestions that the doctor who responded to my initial request neither read the request properly, nor looked at my records.

I think that's a concern, too.

Someone at the surgery is paying attention, because I've already had a reply. They've apologised and said they'll respond in full before the end of the month, after investigating. Happy with that.

I'm even happier that they managed to not deadname / misgender me this time around. Little things...

Where on earth are ex-GIC patients (who've been discharged back into the care of their GPs), supposed to obtain prescriptions? The GICs won't do it, GPs won't do it... so...?

I've written to the practice manager.

I do good letters. I learnt from my best friend, who practiced family law in an earlier life. Precision, accuracy, conciseness.

I'm not going to let them off lightly.

My GP *was* supportive but she's moved to another practice within the same group.

I'm supposed to be moving house soon and I don't know if I have the energy to fight a practice I'll be leaving by the summer anyway.
