Today marks a day of mourning. We focus on the loss of land, culture, and devasting impacts of colonisation. Always was, Always will be, Aboriginal land. The AIVL team will be attending invasion day rallies in the areas we are based in.
To care for our young people and support their health and safety, we have to invest in harm reduction and seriously consider legalising and regulating the supplies of peptides. ππ
Amazing piece of work from some of our AIVL closest partners and AIVL peer leaders highlighting some of the current challenges and opportunities with community-research partnerships! ππ
Gotta be careful when using both alcohol and MDMA.π·ππΈ
Refusing to pivot to better products that can support people, sticking to old ways and keeping the pressure on politicians and communities is a dead end. But some politicians may still be benefiting from money invested in the far-right objectives like against climate change and social innovation.
Yes, and the link between the lobbying of those companies and their hands/power in the political spheres still, but also do we have a far-right movement that still benefits from this all?
Interesting point, what is the smokescreen real purpose is the question? We know the war on drugs is advancing geopolitical agenda, resource control and creating divide to fortify the strategic positioning of the far-right. But with vapes and safer smoking, there seems to be something else at play!?
So sad!
The only thing that isn't surprising is how surprise we all are, leaving all those UN bodies... π«₯
We need tabacco harm reduction measures, what Australia is currently doing isn't working. Frankly, NZ is doing things much better on that front!
Involuntary treatment is a breach of health and human rights, and only increasing harms!
Can't hold onto the past! It's like prohibition, it didn't work and gotta move on, no need to go backward. No texting exes and no need for prohibition. Dropping the mic and dropping Mike all at once! πππ
Gotta know what you gear truly is! That's why we need drug checking available nationally I'm Australia ASAP! πβοΈ
Exactly banning vapes just push the transfer of product offer to the black markets and increased danger and potential harm!
@knowyourstuffnz.bsky.social quiz about cannabis! π€©πππ±
First @knowyourstuffnz.bsky.social monthly drug checking clinic in Hamilton! ππ

@knowyourstuffnz.bsky.social festival kit tips! πππ
Always nice to see how things work on the ground! @knowyourstuffnz.bsky.social is so well organised. Imagine if we had drug checking at festivals and fixed-site across Australia! Meaning we would get so much crucial information about drugs from Aus alongside NZ to reduce harms. πππ€©
Absolutely amazing piece of work from the @hivlegalnetwork.bsky.social in Canada! β€οΈπ
Absolutely lived-living experience and peer leadership should be at the front of policy change and law reform! πβοΈβπΏπ
Very good point from @chancethegardener.bsky.social. The focus should be on what the real issue is and supporting people's health and wellbeing! πβοΈβπΏπ
Decriminalisation is the minimum that should be implemented internationally as it supports health equity and harm reduction service access! πβοΈ
