She's fed up of being told that she'll 'change her mind' when she tells her family, friends and colleagues that she doesn't ever want children and she's fed up of being overwhelmed, overloaded, unappreciated and overlooked for promotion in favour of people she's spent years covering for when they have been off on repeated maternity leave. Not only that but she doesn't really have any friends; her family is exasperated by her, despite what she sees as her best efforts to be a good Sister and Aunt (I fully empathise with her sister here), and worse still, her husband Sean has disappeared and is ghosting her, and she doesn't know why or where he is.

It is very far from a festive read but I am inhaling this fantastic book by Marie Tierney. Her turn of phrase is mesmerising and it is wrong-footingly heart warming despite the dark, dark story. #BookSky
