I'm Christopher. Today is one of those days I'm minding my wife's social media while she works on project work. I usually leave any follows for her to look over when she's back.

He was definitely dead by 1964 (GGM was 'railwayman's widow' in docs by then). They had children (only 2 known to make it to adulthood, only spouse's Nonna had any known children too) between 1900 - 1920. Wife's birth year is 1881.
Likelihood he died in Piemonte or Potenza (yes, that varied).

railway work.
We're in needle in a haystack territory trying to find him - and what's odd is, we can't seem to pick him up through DNA either (even though he's now our only unknown line on that side) - to the point I'm wondering if he's maybe a child of the wheel.
The most we have to go on is...

We're still having a bit of bother with spouse's GGF. We know he wasn't local to where the family is focused for 3-4gens. He comes & settles there - probably to do with his

The Roles of Telomeres - Profolus
This article lists down and describes the three major roles of telomeres in organisms through a brief review of the relevant literature.
American anatomist Leonard Hayflick introduced the concept of Hayflick limit to explain the fact that each time a cell divides or undergoes mitosis, the telomeres found on the ends of each chromosome shortens slightly. Cell division ceases once telomeres reach a critically short length.

'Mandy' by Julie Edwards (who used her married name to write under), is a book that I read I think 3-5 times in one school year (I read out of my age bracket so read all the ones for our class early on) & it's stayed with me ever since.
Can't summarise that one without spoilers.

Just looking again at the pics. Hard with my eyes, but the second pick, it looks like it's chest might be kind of mottled(?) That can often be a sign of a young bird. A lot of species start out kind of brown/neutral & white blotchy (for better camouflage) & get their colours as adults.

It's a heron. I'm not sure what type you folks get out there, but it's a bit like the one we we have here, which would be a grey one.
Another fun way to up your birding knowledge is to try a "bird identification key" - you can get them free online & they're so easy to use. Like playing 20 questions
