tho Vera has an entire production studio for music-making and podcasts, they let teens and young adults make their own projects and don’t brand anything under the venue’s umbrella. notable that their main source of promo is still word of mouth.

yesterday’s host venue, The Vera Project, is the second-longest-running DIY venue in the US. the city of Seattle owns their (vast) main building downtown and it’s on a 5-year lease. it’s funded on 55 percent revenue and 45 percent donations/grants.

we’re on ~Pacific Time at #MusicPolicyForum presenting on survival strategies learned during the release of Transa and throughout Red Hot’s history. Seattle is a microcosm of music industry dramas & triumphs so it’s easy to learn a lot here just by walking around.
