Whenever I finish crowdfunding for a project, I completely forget that I'm creative. I look at the stuff I made and think "what? how?"

It comes back eventually. And it's important to let it be and not push through.

The whole idea with DISPOSABLE HEROES was to make a osrish dungeon crawly game along the same design philosophy as stuff like Dungeon World, but with a respawn mechanic and a package delivery system to hijack the whole death loop, hence the deck of characters instead of character gen rules

I was fucking around with it in Songbirds and dungeon girls but I think the way marathon is exploring it is very sexy. THEY GOT WORMS AND AN ARTIFICIAL WORM GOD

I think if anything it doubles down on osr style stuff in the ttrpg realm. you're just dungeon crawling and dying doesn't matter and the maps are small hex crawls/dungeons that have emergent gameplay. all the osr buzzwords + death being important.

advice to new ttrpg creators: live most of your life outside of ttrpgs. if you catch yourself talking shit about another indie creator on some discord, y'know, questioning if they're really queer or something, stop and go outside.

You can be assured that my criterion closet picks would be unique and cool and everyone would be impressed with them. I can’t tell you what they are because that would give away the game. But you’d have your mind blown.

I listened to this album a lot in high school while I wrote L4D fan fiction. I think battery is still my fav Metallica song.

Marathon has me understanding my body in ways I didn't before. I think this game is really special in a way I can't articulate without babbling.

I think the best writing advice I can give to anyone is to trust yourself. Like, sure, if you're just starting out you don't know what you're doing, but you need to trust that you like what you like for a reason. YOU WILL find out those reasons, but until then, just trust yourself and go forward.
