Each year, American households buy tens of millions of small animals — fish, gerbils, lizards, birds, snakes, frogs, turtles & more — to keep as pets. But these animals aren’t meant to be in captivity, which brings up the ethical question: Is it cruel to keep these animals? 🐠🐹🦜🦎

When temperatures rise, we'll see wasps & bees emerging. If you find one that seems slow or to be struggling, offer them a tiny amount of agave or some sugar water (2 parts sugar 1 part water) for an energy boost to continue their activities. 🐝

Shrinking North American bird population is getting worse faster. Experts blame agriculture, warming A new study finds North American bird populations keep dropping, and that decline is speeding up for many species.

🦗 The biggest impact of agricultural intensity though is our war on insects. Many of the birds with population declines depend heavily on insects for food.
