As a fair trade organization, we help our partners invest in clean energy sources. In 2024, we partially funded solar powered water heating systems for artisans in Nepal, helping them work more efficiently and reduce their reliance on fuel.

Unpredictable weather, soaring temperatures, and more natural disasters all come as a result of climate change heavily driven by emissions produced by the burning of fossil fuels. But this doesn't have to continue! Renewable energy, from solar power to wind power, is the future of our planet. 🧵

June is #PrideMonth! 🏳️‍🌈 Our focus is on fighting poverty through fair trade and we believe the rights for and dignity of all people are both relevant to creating a better and fairer world. We believe it is important to stand up for people who are vulnerable, including the LGBTQ+ community.

This affects not just crops for food, but also crops for crafts, like the sustainable grasses many of our partners use to create their gorgeous baskets. Another reason to fight climate change! ✊

Last year, SERRV helped fund a beekeeping class for artisan women in Israel and the West Bank to help provide them a secondary source of income when there aren't olives to harvest and press. They're able to protect the bees and provide for their families—a win-win!

What's the buzz today? 🐝 It's World Bee Day, and a great opportunity to celebrate these powerful pollinators! Without them, many of the plants we enjoy on our tables and in our gardens wouldn't exist. Here's to bees!

On the International Day of Living Together in Peace, we can work to promote peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding and solidarity. Today, we can take action to support our friends and neighbors of all races, religions, and backgrounds, and stand for peace and justice. 🧵

When you shop fair trade, you help cut down on the amount of plastic waste. Many handcrafted fair trade items are made using upcycled and recycled materials like sari, newspapers, and even plastic water bottles!

Many of the principles of fair trade center around providing fair income for work, safe working conditions, and dignified work for ALL people, regardless of their race, class, or gender. When you support fair trade, you support workers. ✊

On International Workers' Day, take a moment to celebrate the working class, their struggles, and their successes. Protests held today in 1886 were responsible for the eight-hour work day, and today continues to be an important day for workers to fight for their rights. 🧵
