02.01.2026 22:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Last week it was The Beatles' 'Fool on the Hill'. This week it's Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons' 'The Night'. I don't think this ear-worm thing is going to fix itself.

Several new spreads in my Reading Journal. A couple of which were the 'Oops! Forgot to include the book cover, again' sort, so I had to jury rig stuff. Btw, is it 'jury rig' or 'jerry rig'? π€

New video and I was in rare form. Likely because I got to talk about a couple of my favorite things: food and playing the 'elder' card.
21.11.2025 01:50 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I made a new ink-journal video where I talk about cranberries, honeycomb, Victorian Psycho, and the 'gauche/gouache' trap.

Several early November reads/spreads. It's been a good reading month, so far.

Kokuho Rose was my Japanese motherβs go-to brand. This brings up memories of growing up in an Asian-American household and eating rice with nearly every meal. Our old school one-button rice cooker sure got a workout. Man, I miss my momβs Hamburger Rice and Onigiri.
17.11.2025 06:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm halfway through VICTORIAN PSYCHO by Virginia Feito. And I can't decide if four-page-long chapters please or annoy me.

13.11.2025 19:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reading journal spread for The September House. Four out of five stars. Various ephemera and pens used.
My reading journal is chugging along.
Btw... not that I'm geeking out or anything, but I'm now using a binder/trading card sleeve system to keep track of my 'Want to Read' list and LIBBY holds. It's easy to rearrange according to my moods. I've also gone with index cards for tracking series.
With inks - as with people - subtle sheeners are delightful.

I've finally - FINALLY - finished my 'Mijello Journal' watercolor series. And it's glorious gosh darn it. I didn't feature every color in the 34-color set. I curated only enough to fill the sketchbook - which turned out to be 25.
Full flip-through at the end.
Beautiful! I'm sure it was yummy and nourishing as well.

02.11.2025 06:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Big bag of candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters tonight.
Even though we didn't get trick-or-treaters last Halloween, we have candy to hand out. Looking forward to enjoying it over the next week.
31.10.2025 19:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reading journal spread for Naked in Death by J.D. Robb. Ephemera including mini book cover and my thoughts in writing.
Reading journal spread for Due or Die by Jenn McKinlay. Various bits of ephemera and my written thoughts.
Reading journal spread for Ordinary People by Judith Guest.
I'm consuming twice as many books as anticipated. Original goal was one per week. Total for this month = 9. Probably because the LIBBY app makes it so easy.

20.10.2025 08:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You know those pics I've been posting from my reading journal? I've uploaded a video where I talk about the process involved in creating those spreads. Two new entries in my Plotter fountain pen ink journal: Diamine's 'Velvet Emerald' and 'Glacier'. The paper is Sanzen's Tomoe River (68gsm). I'm using a Pilot parallel pen, a Kakimori brass nib, and a small round brush for these spreads.
18.10.2025 03:06 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A groovy (that's still hip, right?) new video is up. I play with watercolors, talk about heavy metals, get distracted by books, and reminisce about childhood mealtimes.
