Airstrikes alone do not win wars. Decapitation strikes do not win wars. Only boots on the ground and risking real casualties can produce a win against an armed and insulated opponent. And even then its no guarantee. You can’t win a war on the cheap. Or with headlines.

Fetterman’s poll numbers are now in Sinema territory: sunk too deep with his party to win a primary, artificially inflated by Republicans who’d never actually vote for him, trapped in a negative-partisanship era that makes an independent bid implausible. His seat is up in 2028.

Johnson is doing pro-Democratic ads now??

The court is trying to help Trump. They understand that the tariffs were a drag on the economy and created uncertainty, and negative economies lose elections. They are trying to help Republicans salvage 2026 and 2028. If the tariffs helped Republicans electorally they would have upheld them.

So much of what Trump does is fake. Board of peace is fake. Venezuelan regime change was fake. Credit card interest caps were fake. Wall was fake. Its all about optics, the apperance of winning. Its all comms and marketing to make the base believe in the spectacle. But its not real and never was

Democratic ticket wins in 28 for structural reasons. Negative national sentiment on the economy + feeling country is going in the wrong direction under Republicans. However it will be a challenge to make substantive change, and in 32 Dems could be back in the same boat.

AIPAC-aligned super PAC United Democracy Project spent millions to defeat Tom Malinowski for backing conditions on US aid to Israel. They may help elect Analilia Mejia, a more progressive candidate who deems Israel's actions a genocide. (Race is too close to call.) A spectacular own-goal.

Elites in America have complete impunity, total immunity from consequences whatsoever. It is a neo aristocracy of sorts, which hates knowledge and rewards ignorance. Many elites are not only corrupt, vain, and contemptuous of the masses, but are also stupid and live vapid lives.

The thinking with Biden 2020 was that his electability was a mirage and that once he lost a primary he would collapse. That didn’t happen because of his strong support in Black southern states…if the left makes inroads in the Black south they can take on Newsom. If its like 16/20 then no

Didn’t people say this about Biden in the 2020 primary though?

Nazis always had collaborators, going back to the very beginning. In every single country they occupied.

But sending 25 EU soldiers to Greenland isn’t going to cut it. Time for Europe to get serious or go home. The US can no longer squeeze Russia or China. Its getting harder than ever to squeeze the β€œthird world.” But DC believes squeezing the EU, their β€œallies” will be easy.

The reality is that Europe cannot fight a two front war against Russia and the US. It doesn’t have the capability. Their best bet now is to stall for time and try to accommodate one of the great powers. Perhaps a dΓ©tente with China is in the cards and Canada was an opening salvo

19.01.2026 22:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Europe believed that America was β€œlike them” that they cared about human rights and liberalism. But that was always a facade, behind the curtain was 500 years of imperialism, colonialism, and Machiavellian power politics. Europe thought they could reap the benefits of that. Now its happening to them

19.01.2026 22:13 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

America essentially provides for all of Europe’s security. After cutting off Russian gas, the US now provides a large percentage of Europe’s energy. The US cutting off energy to Europe now would wreck the continent. Giving up your autonomy post 45 for market access and privilege was a very bad deal.

The Europeans are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They trusted the Americans implicitly. The history of US reneging on deals is longβ€”Native Americans, Kurds, Iran Deal. But the Europeans never believed it could be them. They have to shoulder a lot of the blame for their predicament now.

The US has 3x the military budget of the entire EU. And that’s if the entire EU acts in concert against the US, which wouldn’t happen. The US has provided Europe’s security since 1945, which is why EU military spending can afford to be so low, and social spending so high

Absolutely yes, it would just be weaker. It would be much more painful for Europe than the US

Ukraine is by far the largest military in Europe outside of Russia. Europe has provided them with massive amounts of arms and money, substantially drawing down on their own stocks to do so. Europe has been building Ukraine’s military since 2014.

IIRC the UK’s nuclear deterrent is controlled by DC

18.01.2026 03:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

France could go nuclear against Russia sure. But it would mean all of Europe is destroyed in nuclear war.

18.01.2026 03:16 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Europe is extremely limited militarily and has used all of the resources they could in Ukraine. The war has not gone well and things are deteriorating. It was very difficult for Europe to raise the last round of funds…they can’t raise more to take on the Americans
