Smart and fabulous 1st person view of the gig economy
"Is this time-effective? Of course not. Weβre dispersing the labor previously done by one person across five paid employees and hundreds of parents and guardians. But is it cost-effective? Also, no."

Listen Kaine, Hassan, King, Cortez-Masto, Durbin, Shaheen, Rosen, and Fetterman. You're NOT gonna take away my 2025 election joy. We voted in that election for folks to FIGHT for us. That doesn't include YOU.
YOU are what we voted AGAINST last Tuesday. So I'm gonna hang on to that.
In the most predictable development ever, Mike Johnson is not committing to hold a House vote on ACA subsidies

To publish this at all should be a fireable offense - but to publish it as womenβs rights are being decimated is deeply immoral, bordering on evil
βWhen people say, "the longest in U.S. history," how long is that?
The U.S. was founded in 1776. So, "the longest" means 249 years. Thatβs 8-10 generations of people.
Think about that when we say: Tonight, this government shutdown will become the longest in U.S. history.
Let that sink in.
Weird!

Two federal prosecutors have been placed on leave at the direction of the White House after filing a sentencing memo seeking 27 months in prison for a pardoned Jan. 6 rioter who brought illegal guns and ammunition to President Obama's house in 2023.

CEOs are the only real welfare queens.
βWalmart was the top employer of SNAP recipients in five states and one of the top four employers in the remaining four states. McDonaldβs was among the top five employers of Medicaid enrollees in five of six states and SNAP recipients in eight of nine states.β

Did you know that over 1.3M active duty service members and veterans rely on SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families?
Now you know.
Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
