I've gotten the chance to work with Emmet a bit on the Cosmere RPG and he is a creative, sharp RPG designer. I recommend checking out his new campaign that brings his thoughtful and beautiful Irish-inspired setting and hexcrawl exploration gameplay to Legends in the Mist.

Yeah, it can work well as long as it's in the correct context in the design. To the point a lot of people make in response to Dan, I think the flavor of *why* you're randomly moving is important. In a cartoon race? Makes sense. In a whodunit, why is our movement so variable?

I couldn't come up with a reply for Dan because my personal philosophy is very "there are no bad mechanics, just mechanics that are right or wrong for a specific design." But I think there are some very insightful replies in here!

You could tell similar stories about a game of Magic or Riftbound, but there's something about Sorcery's use of physical space in the grid and their top-down card designs that make these stories *feel* more real and emergent.

We had our first ever epic multiplayer event for Earthborne Rangers at Con of the North, called Incandescent Sky. It was a huge success, and a ton of fun. We plan to do more events like this in the future, so stay tuned!
