ジャパン・パスト＆プレゼント（JPP）は、このたびウェブポータル「江戸絵画の世界」を公開いたしました。本サイトは、ドキュメンタリー映画『江戸アバンギャルド』(Edo Avant Garde)の監督であるリンダ・ホーグランド氏を中心に企画されたもので、世界各地の美術館に所蔵されている、動物や自然を題材とする江戸時代の魅力的な作品200点以上を紹介しています。 edoart.japanpastandpresent.org/jp/

A filterable collection of two hundred additional artworks allows viewers to dive deeper into the world of early modern Japanese painting, history, and culture. To explore the A World of Edo Art web portal, visit edoart.japanpastandpresent.org

Viewers can explore each featured artwork and learn about the artist who created it through high-resolution images, a video with expert commentary, a biography of the artist, and activities and readings that bring the artwork to life by linking it to the natural world around us.

Designed to entice visitors of any age, A World of Edo Art highlights twenty-four artworks across six subject areas: Creatures of the Land, Sea, and Sky, as well as Plants, the Environment, and Artistic Techniques.
