no it’s not exactly like the games, but that’s fine because what HAS been created is giving flowers to the source and doing what it can to live up to it! and in a fan’s eyes, that at minimum is what we want

-cinematic universe has been taken. the SCU isn’t without it’s faults (the first movie isn’t as up to snuff as the 2nd & 3rd, the Knuckles series focused too much on Wade, the over-reliance of Carrey as the series has gone on) but i’m invested in seeing where things go with the 4th movie and on!

-so the divergence was already built in. Sonic was the first instance of true divergence with acknowledgement/respect to the source. it nearly diverted in a bad way in regards to Sonic’s design, thank god for that public reaction bcs it absolutely played a part in the overall direction the-

a majority diverged with no proper acknowledgement of the source material or respect towards it, Detective Pikachu was the first instance (for me at least) of a well received adaptation because it acknowledged the source, and i believe it helped that it was based off a side game and not a mainline-

LR this is why the Sonic movies have been overall successful, it’s diverged from the games BUT respect has been given towards the material. that alone can make or break a video game adaptation, and why there’s been such a rough history of video game movies in particular.

Y'know, I sat here pondering why my feelings for Witcher's director's insistence that diverging from the books/games is bad when I didn't feel that way about Amazon's Wheel of Time divergences. I think it comes down to reception; if you diverge, someone has to *want what you produced instead*.

Not my picture but my god this EXACTLY sums up why I'm so done with goddamn internet discourse. Everyone feels they have to have a take. It feels like people are seeking out negativity rather than just... enjoying what they do like.

it’s been a bit since i’ve played Mario kart so i can’t do any accurate personal comparison but i love the feel of the controls and the online play is really energizing. and EXTREME GEAR BABYYYYYYY

i’m REALLY happy with Crossworlds so far!! only downside is how limited the open network test is lol, i wish there was a little more to do in single player, like another Cup for example, but it’s still been so fun

seriously HOW can anybody hate Sonic R songs. i’ve always loved how different Sonic music was pre-Crush 40, i always wondered what if they kept to that RnB style more closely over the years

but like. . . to me it’s been hopeful? the ‘she’ is me and i got away. or at the very least i’m in the process of getting away.

def not the intention of the song but that’s how it’s helped me. Chappell Roan’s music has been healing for me overall, thank you for doing what you do queen 👑

and struggled for a while with being in the same space as them. spite fueled me before, but slowly it’s been going away, and they’re that bit closer to being just some person. i know in the song the ending part with “She’s got a way/she got away” is supposed to be somber and mournful-

anyways still in a stranglehold over The Subway. like it’s actually helped me move forward from my last relationship and the hang ups i still had over it and the person it was with. literally i have my own ‘subway’ where i still see them in passing-

ough still trying to get a handle on using blueksy, tried to delete an accidental repost of one of my own posts but just deleted the whole thing instead 😩

i do! as long as there’s bluetooth capabilities it’ll work, and i vastly prefer it to using the keyboard on the screen. i got a random keyboard off Amazon and it’s worked well for me the past few years
