The list wasn’t meant to be inclusive. You originally questioned the use of Male and Female as nouns. The dictionary lists them as nouns so the use of them as nouns is correct.

It’s the second definition. Male and Female are used as nouns in biology, medical and military settings.

For sure under-appreciated. Though, in general, I think SF is underrated.

I love the light in this! It’s a beautiful work, their expressions are lovely.

Try the Kate Daniel’s series or the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews (but absolutely ignore the *horrific* covers). If you like SF I would recommend Jessie Mahalik or Jennifer Estep. Patricia Briggs is also good but she writes lots of werewolf books, but they are extremely slow burn.

That’s a solid 2 books! Which is honestly valid if you’re working on a series where romance is second to the plot (like Kate Daniels). But if you want it to be romantasy then book 1 needs to have a HEA/HFN in which case the short cuts tend to be time hops and lust.

Romance Books. I accidentally fell into them and it really helped. It’s such a “pick your plot” genre that I could find what I needed, leave what I didn’t care for and enjoy the plot with the safety of a HEA. Romance books are basically weighted blankets of books.

Authors are confusing their USP with their blurbs. I get it, the USP will convert some people but the rest of us want the blurb

I’m leaning pessimistic on quality. I can’t imagine how they are going to appropriately capture some of these things like the Illyrian wings on a reasonable special effect budget

ACOTAR is like a super cozy reading nook with lots of pillows, room service and free drinks. And everything else is just one of those options.

What about a contemporary? “Breathe the Sky” by Michelle Hazen is a middle aged couple both struggling with intimacy issues from their traumatic pasts. Very little spice and very cute with a realistic rollercoaster of emotions.

The euphemisms end up making the topic itself taboo instead of the act, which helps absolutely no one.
