🐚 Common cockles don't grow much during winter ❄️

📏 This causes the marked growth bands on their shells and these bands can be used to age individual cockles! 🤩

🧑‍🤝‍🧑This week 10 #MarineConservation volunteers carried out 5 #DolphinWatch surveys! 📝 Due to the weather warning all surveys on Monday were called off. 🌧️ However, dolphins, cormorants and gannets were spotted over the rest of the week.🐬

🕵️ She is one of the most easily identifiable dolphins in our catalogue? Look out for the discolouration at the top of her dorsal fin and the white markings at the base of her right side 🏔️❄️
