Trump & Republicans can find $2 billion to rename the Department of Defense.
But they canβt find the money to make your health care more affordable.
Give me a break.
1) Ethics officials at Fannie Mae investigate how Bill Pulte got Letitia James mortgage docs
2) They send findings to Inspector Gen. of FHFA, which Pulte heads
3) IG sends it to Lindsay Halligan, new USA prosecuting James
4) IG and ethics officials are all fired.

These people are such embarrassments and bring such shame upon the US government.

I dunno but if youβre feeling defensive about NYT taking heat for decades of feigning ignorance on Epstein, maybe sit in your feels and reflect. Because without any public whipping at all @jkbjournalist.bsky.social went at the story head on and now weβre here.

I think thatβs why we need to do better explaining things. Most people read headlines or an article here and there. Not many have time to research every political issue we face.
And the issue is rarely as simple as good vs bad. How and why and what cost to who, all the details matter.
Also most voters have just never thought remotely seriously about policy. βShould we get rid of illegal immigrants? Well, of course; theyβre illegal!β Thereβs nothing deeper than that going on until they start seeing what that actually entails.

Perfect example of political media operating under the post-truth standard that (1) distorts the facts until the parties look approximately equal, and (2) holds βdo MAGA voters care?β as a higher standard than βis it true?β or βis it important for the public to know about this?β

Iβm thinking of McConnellβs promise to make sure nothing gets done under the Obama administration. Or under Biden how the border deal was squashed. They vote against the things they agree with. They vote against progress if it hurts βthe other side.β We need to fix things and move forward.
