Novel edits last weekend. I do what I suggest my students/colearners do. I print and lay it all out—the whole book. Take up space, see patterns, track progress, get to the next best draft. Sticky notes, highlighters, a sharpie and crawling around on the floor. Anything to get away from the screen!

So many reasons to love this book, "Magical/Realism" by Vanessa Angélica Villarreal. Her intellectual rigor, heart, fierce resistance and infectious joy are some of the reasons why I admire her. Grateful for her visit to IAIA during the last MFA-CW residency.
