Also, every time she raises the issue/asks Senators why they don't want to talk about whichever "criminal illegal alien" she would prefer to discuss, they should firmly and loudly remind her that the hearing is about her/DHS/ICE/CBP conduct, not that of immigrants because that's their job.

This could be a major night in NC.

Wow: In the early vote, it's a blow-out *so far*.

Rodney Sadler, the progessive pastor and activist, leads state Representative Carla Cunningham 75% to 18%.

Context:

I agree there is a lot of this in play and it's good to keep all of that in mind. But it's nerve-wracking at times to also realize that things may come down to a race to the finish and Trump holds many of the most powerful reins, if not quite all of them.

It refreshed my soul just the tiniest bit yesterday to watch Thom Tillis dehisce the festering wound that is DHS under Noem. Watching her retreat into a rehearsed dialogue that would be basic coming from an animated fuckdoll was entertaining even as it frustrated. She is disgusting.

You do have a point about "ducking into bunkers". They certainly ran into military housing once their neighbors started letting them know they weren't welcome in places/spaces they thought they would be.

Yeah, I knew it was more complex than represented "in the movies", but it sure would be comforting right now to know exactly HOW complex and know the names/inclinations of those involved. And I suspect they keep that info closely guarded (if they're capable, that is).

This is what the end game of allowing military expenses to swallow budgets looks like: carp swarming the edges of the pond, sucking up - nay, DEMANDING - every last available penny like fish kibble. All while the rest of us struggle to afford real food.
