Israel's systematic attempts to kill the entire Iranian opposition leadership in Iran is indicative of what (some) of us have been saying— Israel doesn't not want to turn the IRI into a democratic republican state, it wants there to be no state. It wants a rubble-state, Gaza or Yemen or worse.

The goal is to obliterate the capacity for an Iran to be maintained.

Ahmadinejad was a leading critic of the Supreme Leader and had on numerous occasions implied that he would take a less confrontational approach to Israel if he were ever returned to a position of influence and they killed him nonetheless. Says a lot about the goals of the Israeli state.

It's incredible how often this claim is made. Settlers are members of the Israeli cabinet, hold the finance ministry and much of the defense ministry, are in charge of the national command of the police, and there are settlers who have served on the high court. The president himself is pro-settler.
