I have figured out that the scene icons having that weird sepia color DOES mean they're faded technically, I think. I guess I was just confused because I was so consistently clearing them out up until a certain point lmao

If it's this scene, Possessions, have you tried examining your inventory until you have a prompt to discard anything? I didn't actually discard anything, but I had the curse stone, the tamatebako, and the business card. It's a bit of an obtuse instance like in 1 with the lighter, possibly?

I will say I am loving the increase in interactivity and 'puzzles' in this so far, definitely a step up from the first one. In the first one there were pretty much only 2 whole instances of having an inventory and using items from it, but this is already so much more engaging.

my best guess is the ones with paler trim on the icons is the truly 'faded,' but i still think it's obtuse compared to 1's system, given the lack of distinct visual difference aside from that.

in 1, the icons were tv screens that cracked after playing them, but remained lit if unfinished, and went dim/greyscale if completed. much more clear visual indication there. i'm still a bit confused for this one. the smoke clouds are smth different, too, i know that at least.

Okay I went and grinded and also got the 2k high score it wasn't that bad in all honesty. i will have to go back to get mocking birds but. i am not gonna worry about any of that until a guide is up lmao.

Also I would not be surprised if there's something that happens if you actually grind you way up to the max for every stat in the diving minigame but I have held off for now--I only maxed out Diving and Swimming. But Apparently there's smth if you reach a score of 2000, so... hm...
