Yesterday, on my way home from the airport, I decided to wash my very dirty car (that's what happens when car sits outside for almost a month), then decided I wanted a Shamrock shake. The roof at McDonald's dumped water all over my car. Oh well. The universe laughs at my plans.

Subterranean Press originally published the Cosmic Blood-Suckers back in 2017. Unfortunately, it is out of print.

I think there is a collected bundle of Bubba Ho-Tep/Cosmic Blood-Suckers available.

Lansdale also wrote a prequel to Bubba Ho-Tep called Bubba and the Cosmic Blood-Suckers.

For many years I was in a garden level apt. The window sill inside was ground level outside. Had a feeder pole 15 feet away in the yard. I use a Canon 300mm lens from very close to 20 or 30 feet away. The birds came to me. :D I haul the camera & lens when I go for woods walks, too.

How do you get all these great photos of skittish, flighty subjects; a very long lens and a lot of patience?

It's probably topical 5-fluorouracil for precancerous lesions from all that sun exposure on the golf course.

It may be 5-fluorouracil cream for actinitic keratoses--"sun spots'--which are precancerous lesions on the skin that occur after lifelong exposure to the Sun.

M81 has an active nucleus due to a supermassive black hole.
M82 is a starburst galaxy with a high surface brightness.
