How long should we expect to wait to hear from @clmporg.bsky.social after paying the fee and completing the membership application? Tomorrow makes a week, and I'm just curious about what happens next, and there has been no communication other than the receipt email.

Just a note that I publish +doc, a little lit mag for longer poems, and I'm still looking for work for the next couple issues. I usually put up a call on Chill Subs, and I might eventually anyway, but I thought I'd hold off this year to give people more time to submit, if they're interested.

We haven’t come across anything that appears blatantly AI-generated, to be clear.

Just seemed like it’s fair to have a clearly-stated policy.

Write your poems yourself, my friends. We believe in you!

If we discover after publication, we will remove the work from all online platforms and publish a retraction.

Those poets will not be welcome to submit again.

Our official position on submissions using generative AI:

We will only publish original poetry written without the use of generative AI including, but not limited to, ChatGPT. If we discover during the reading process any plagiarism or AI, we will discard the submission.

So it occurred to @dusti.bsky.social in the shower that we have never stated our official generative AI position. We’ll be adding it everywhere later today. Next post will contain it and be pinned for a bit.

85% of submissions for the upcoming issue of @delicatezine.bsky.social came from @chillsubs.bsky.social users. And my MFA program recently partnered with them, too. They’re responsive and always working on doing better stuff. Happy with them as both a writer AND an editor.

Also, in the next couple days we will be announcing our poets for the March issue!

Ramadan has started, and the World Central Kitchen has a program to distribute food aid to people in Gaza. Each kit for Ramadan contains nearly 30 pounds of halal—enough for up to 70 meals. If you have spare funds, please consider a donation of $60 to assist the people still struggling in Gaza.

Not mentioned here is what to do when people don't read the submissions guidelines. Because we don't know what to do for you if you're not reading guidelines. Ed. is teaching a community workshop on "subs to pubs and has a section dedicated to finding, reading, and understanding guidelines.

Notes from the editor on getting a record number of submissions, trying to stay intentionally small, etc. Any other editors of small-team publications wanna talk about this kind of stuff?

We had a *spectacular* response to our call for poems for the spring issue! Reading and selections will begin tonight, and all who submitted should receive an email decision by Monday, 2/23 at 6 pm Central Standard Time.

Hi there, poets. So we had a discrepancy in dates, and the submission form itself says submissions are open through 11:59 PM CST on Wednesday, 2/18, which is tomorrow. Dusti just reactivated the form. You have another day and a quarter to submit if you haven't done so yet!

Well, we traveled and forgot to close the form until about fifteen seconds ago, so how lucky are you if you got to submit past the deadline?!?
