Game 126: Dyce 1-1(6-7p) Sunnybank.
Both goals in the first half. Sunnybank came closest to notching a winner, with a goal ruled out for offside.
Neither side settled for the draw with chances in the closing stages before Sunnybank won the shootout.

All square in Dyce at the break. A good game. Both sides pretty direct, but Sunnybank especially.
The visitors equalised on the stroke of half time after Dyce opened the scoring with a brilliant headed effort from close range after 20 minutes.

Pie review: Steak Pie, Dyce FC.
North East Scotland usually delivers on the pie front. This was very good. The 'pulled' style filling was rich and delicious. Pastry spot on. A fuller filling and a tad warmer and this is an award winner.

It's football day and I've ventured up north for what's known as new tick in the "groundhopping" fraternity.
I've not seen a game at Ian Mair Park before, so looking forward to Dyce v Sunnybank, a McLeman Cup first round tie.

Game 125: Linlithgow Rose 1-1 Clydebank. Rose won 3-0 on pens
The visitors will be kicking themselves after a strong second half showing yielded an equaliser but no winner.
The shoot out was a disaster for them, two saved and another scooped over the bar.

Pie review: Steak & Haggis, Linlithgow Rose FC.
Have sampled the whole range here, other than macaroni.
This one is my favourite. Haggis always adds something to a filling in my view. Filling not massively generous but sufficient. Pastry under.

A decent first half at Prestonfield.
I'd argue that Clydebank have had more of the game, but they trail to a cracking Calum Rae goal for Linlithgow Rose, lashed in from the angle of the box.
The Bankies came close to an equaliser just before the break.
#davesfootballtravels ⚽️
It's football night and Lowland League Cup action as Linlithgow Rose take on Clydebank in a quarter final clash of two of the league's better sides.
Always good to visit Prestonfield, which in immaculate condition as usual.
Decent pies also...

Game 124: Crossgates Primrose 0-0 Blackburn United.
Not the worst goalless draw I've seen, but there was a lack of quality at the top end for both sides.
A point apiece fair enough, though I felt Blackburn shaded the second half.

Difficult conditions at Humbug Park today, with a heavy pitch.
Crossgates and Blackburn showing plenty of endeavour in the first half, but no goals as yet.
Not much between the sides, if anything at all.

Pie review: Steak Pie, Crossgates Primrose FC.
I've had a good run of excellent pies lately. Alas, this is a Bells pie and you all know my feelings etc.
These might be decent with triple the filling. Maybe.

I've been under the weather all week, but up and out for football today.
I've opted for some East of Scotland League action today as Crossgates Primrose take on Blackburn United at Humbug Park.
Only my second visit here and the first for a decade.

I think it is possible to achieve improvement within the current constraints the Government operates under.
I also agree that full fiscal autonomy would help further.
Both can be and are true.
Enjoy your day.
Not unable, unwilling. A waste of everyone's time.
But your standpoint seems to suggest that the NHS is as good as it could be, which is nonsense. That's tbe biggest area of underperformance.
It's really obvious and to be honest I've not got the motivation to argue it.
I'm a lifelong SNP voter and former member by the way.
I agree but that doesn't mean the Scottish government can't be better than it is. Its seriously under performed.
Both of these things can be true.
I know its nearly election time but they need to better than self congratulatory videos on social media.
I'm generally supportive Alyn, but the Scottish government should have been much bolder in the last decade+ to deliver changes the country needs. Especially under Nicola Sturgeon.
Lots of examples, but council tax reform is one. Promised, could have been delivered, not happened.
Game 123: Vale of Leven 2-0 BSC Glasgow.
No second goals but a fairly comfortable win for Vale of Leven in Alexandria.
They should have scored another couple, but the fact they didn't kept a young and dogged BSC side in the game.

Football lovers. Take a moment this Valentine's Day to appreciate the Millburn Park enclosure, which I reckon must be one of the oldest, if not THE oldest structure in a Scottish football ground. Barrel roofs like this were common in the early 20th century.

Pie review: Steak Pie, Vale of Leven FC
Had good pies at Millburn before and good to see standards maintained. Ample steak filling - with 'pulled' texture rather than chunky. Good meat/gravy balance and absolutely delicious. Pastry decent. Lovely.

The Vale are two goals to the good at half time after a dominant showing.
The BSC keeper won't want to see the second goal again - a glaring error from him.
It's been a decent game helped by a pitch in absolutely remarkable condition for the time of year.

Football day continues with a game at the bottom end of the West of Scotland League.
Its Fourth Division action as Vale of Leven take on BSC Glasgow at Millburn Park in Alexandria.
Another ground I love, and one of the countries oldest, dating from late Victorian times.

Game 122: DTI 3-7 Southside United.
Goals galore at Glasgow Green.
DTI haven't won all season but led 2-1 for a spell and were level at the break.
Southside got their noses in front early in the second half and never looked back. Two late goals added gloss.

It's really, really cold but the sun is shining in Glasgow for a change.
I've got myself out of bed for more Saturday morning amateur fitba action.
I'm at Glasgow Green for DTI against Southside United, 12th v 9th in the Scottidh Premier AFA's Colleges Championship.

Game 121: Motherwell 1-1 Rangers.
A big point for Motherwell thanks to an 89th minute equaliser when down to ten men.
Fadinger red card looked harsh to me in real time, but who knows.
Rangers had been the better side second half.
Att 11,209.

Pie review: Donner Pie, Motherwell FC. Tried these years ago - had a vile minced interior. This was miles better. Filling not generous but tasted good. Heavier on garlic than chilli so not very spicy. Pastry good. A middle ranking effort.

Thankfully there are still some playable Premiership pitches.
These include Fir Park, which hosts the pick of tonight's games as Motherwell host Rangers. Two in-form sides. Have enjoyed the 'Well games I've seen this season - hope this is another.

Game 120: Beith Juniors 1-3 Hurlford United.
A deserved win for Hurlford, though they made hard work of it against nine man Beith.
The home side were still in the game until the 87th minute, when the third goal arrived.

Bellsdale Park is one of my most favourite Scottish grounds.
Full of character and with an incredible end to end slope, it hosted Scottish League football around a century ago.
It's great to see it's long life extended with the installation of lights.
