Looks like The Pokémon Company took the fans’ feedback seriously on needing more time to polish their games. I am glad that they are announcing Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves to be released next year. Maybe it might be soon my time to get a Switch 2…but we shall see how things go.

So far, the previews look really good. A big step up from Scarlet & Violet. Looking forward to seeing more trailers and previews.

Only two Canadian cities are willing to host the World Cup. Maybe if FIFA wasn’t so greedy in taking majority of profits from host cities in the past, there would have more Canadian cities willing to host the World Cup.

Before covid, I used to see Falun Dafa members wear their “Falun Dafa is good“ vests in Vancouver. But after covid and recently increased tensions between US and Canada, they now are trying to hide them by wearing semi-transparent white jackets.

I want to be able to support small local anime events, without having to worry about crowd turnout and deliver a high quality game show experience regardless of how many ppl are there.

An opportunity as a developer to make Capella Interactive‘s game show panels be even more adaptable & flexible with small conventions and turnouts.

These factors make me feel insecure and anxious as a designer and panelist who is used to having to think about getting as many ppl to participate as possible. Rather than just hoping that ppl would just rush in at last minute before starting, I see these insecurities as an opportunity.

It makes sense to design about getting as many ppl to play, but rarely do we think about cases where there are just not enough ppl to play due to factors out of our control like not having enough people going to the convention or being interested and sharing same time slot as a concert.

One of the newest challenges that I am currently working on for this year which might go into 2027 is to create a single player experience that is as fun as a multiplayer experience for existing game show panels. Game show panels at cons are designed to work when they are lots of ppl in room.

Today’s gamers wouldn’t know that games back then came in multiple discs and be like “What do you mean there is a disc labelled 2?”

Just finished debugging and testing to make sure Anime Trivia All Stars is fully ready for conventions happening this month. No more "P010" in high score table.

I could have sworn I fixed that bug a few weeks ago...

I am not confident with Discord’s current ability to safeguard users’ personal data given what happened in Oct 2025. And to now announce global rollout of age verification while memories of Oct 2025 data bleach are fresh is bad timing.

77 million users were affected by 2011 PSN hack and had their info compromised. Discord has 200+ million active users and 501 employees. How would Discord be able to handle a future data bleach that could be bigger than 2011 PSN hack with their age verification system?

Bruh. What does the Stanley Cup have anything to do with China? A lot of ppl there don’t even know what the Stanley Cup is. They are more into soccer and basketball than ice hockey.

It would be nice if I can get Eye See You, Half Correct and Word Scrambler decoupled from preloading set # of questions depending on num of players by end of February at the earliest.

These bugs were found when I was in middle of making the minigames‘ functions be in their own JS files to put an end to preloading a set number of questions for minigames and make things less technically challenging when implementing new modes & features later on.

I found a few more bugs in Anime Trivia All Stars. One where if player 3 or 4 wins Geogusser, they don’t get points when calculating Minigame Bonus, and another where there was a typo in correct answer for one of questions in Missing Word.

I changed questions for Word Scrambler mini game which had ”Anime Name” as hint to <decade> Anime. This is to reduce difficulty of Word Scrambler and make things more fair. Even I had trouble with some of them when testing with myself lol.

The only time I think asking for voice actor‘s name in a trivia question could work is if they are super famous (ex: Veronica Taylor or Charles Martinet) or a guest at a convention where Anime Trivia All Stars is being fun at.

Made changes in very hard questions for all anime where instead of asking for the voice actor’s name for ENG or JPN, they ask about what character they voice. This is due to players struggling too much with these kinds of questions.

At the same time, it makes things hard for other ideas we have in mind like a minigame marathon mode. Migrating and separating the coding for all minigames will be done some time this year, before we can create and add new minigames.
