2 freshly planted Bing cherry trees, about 3 feet tall, with wood chip mulch around their bases, next to a weathered wooden fence.

Today was about trees. I planted 2 Bing cherries near the western fence line, and 2 European plums, Green Gage and Imperial Epineuse, varieties recommended by @billhookunion.beanyear.com, behind the house to replace last year's failed plums. I also did some minimal pruning on my older cherry trees.

It takes a while for it to really build into a nice layer.

Well, I mostly use it to cook eggs, with only occasional high temp stuff like searing meat, so that helps. Otherwise I just scrub it with one of those chain mail things and warm it up on the stove and wipe it down with a paper towel (evil, I should use a designated rag) and a bit of canola oil.

It's amazing how many low mile, driven to church on Sunday, one owner Buicks of this era pop up on Craigslist in Portland at reasonable prices.
