My student's diversity F31 has been pulled from study section even though it's the SAME APPLICATION as regular F31s, normally reviewed together in the same panel. Throwing out all the applications from URMs while the ones from white/privileged students get to be reviewed is blatant discrimination.

Excited to share our first foray in ML-guided protein design. With the @gavinjknott lab we designed protein binders as that block heme piracy by pathogenic E. coli and potently inhibit CRISPR-Cas13. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1..., www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Charts showing Australian annual CO2 emissions from 2021 out to 2030. The have been flat since 2021 and will stay so till 2028 when apparently they will fall at a perfect rate to achieve a 43% cut of 2005 levels in 2030
The latest greenhouse gas emissions figures show Australia emits more gas now than when the government was elected.
But the govt wants us to believe we are "on target" to achieve 43% cuts below 2005 levels by 2030.
Enough with the spin: we need to stop approving new coal & gas mines *now*.

For human work try Katherine Kedzierskaβs work with Flu ? Although I donβt know if sheβs published a dataset as large as those that exist for mouse work (for vaccinia thereβs about 180 mass spec defined epitopes with known T cell responses ). Obviously still some work to doβ¦

Anyone knows a good set of validated T-cell epitopes? Meaning epitopes that definitely showed a good T-cell response.
I've used IEDB in the past but maybe there are other valuable resources?

For mouse virus epitopes datasets for vaccinia and flu see work by @dctscharke.bsky.social and @niclag.bsky.social over the last few years - with special kudos to Nathan Croft and Tony Purcell for defining these epitopes by mass spec (Monash Uni).

Generation of T cells with reduced off-target cross-reactivities by engineering co-signalling receptors
Our new work!
We show that T cell cross-reactivity can be reduced without modifying the TCR itself (by dramatically enhancing antigen discrimination).

Finally out! Our contribution to a better understanding of quantitative features of virus p:MHC epitopes. We compared 45 vaccinia epitopes and their source antigens across multiple cell lines, over time, and from the spleen on infected mice against T cell responses in mice.
