Orange Wolverhampton is the city's contribution to the United Nations’ annual Orange The World campaign.

16 days of action to end violence against women and girls (VAWG) between 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and 10 December (UN Human Rights Day).

Home | UK Parliament Week Last year 2.4 million people took part in over 17,000 activities in every region and nation of the UK, and countries all over the world.

Very impressed with the enthusiasm of the young people, hopefully there were some future MPs in the audience.

It's UK Parliament Week!

Really glad to have been invited to Tettenhall College to kickstart KS2's week of activities learning about UK Democracy.

I was asked so many different questions, from how are new laws are made to what the difference is between the House of Commons and House of Lords.

And remember, this is all part of our wider plan to rebuild Great British Railways, in public hands.

I know that cost-of-living pressures are still a reality for many people in Wolverhampton West, and transport costs are a significant part of that.

So I am encouraged that Labour is taking this step to keep household costs down.

It is Monday morning, and I will shortly be on my way back to Westminster. But today, something is different.

We have announced that, for the first time since the 1990s, national rail fares will be frozen for a year - and millions of people up and down the country will see the benefit.

It was a privilege to formally open the Wolverhampton 'Kick Diabetes Out of the UK' Football Tournament last Saturday at Tettenhall College.

The tournament was held in recognition of World Diabetes Day, and was the first of its kind within Wolverhampton.

They are a fantastic organisation that brings together so many faiths and communities from across the city.

Steve 'the Tipton Terrier' Bull is a true Wolverhampton Legend.

He is deservedly the newest inductee to the Wolverhampton Sporting Hall of Fame at Aldersley Leisure Village.

Last week, I welcomed Josh MacAlister MP, Minister for Children, Families and Wellbeing of the United Kingdom, to Wolverhampton West.

A visit to Graiseley Family Hub showcased their role in delivering integrated family support services and discussing child protection reforms.

The annual Molineux Sleepout helps raise funds for some excellent causes from the Wolves Foundation and the Good Shepherd.

There is already provision in the Equality Act 2010, to make caste discrimination unlawful in employment and public services, including education, but this provision needs to be implemented.

It was my honour to host another Caste Discrimination Briefing in Parliament last week.

A special thanks to Apache Indian for his attendance, who has a new song which addresses caste discrimination, written for the Anti Caste Discrimination Alliance (ACDA).

A key aim of their new degree is for students to shape the future of journalism and enable those whose voices are not usually heard in the media to be recognised and included, leading to greater social justice.

I had a fantastic time meeting and speaking to journalism students at the University of Wolverhampton this week.

It was a pleasure to attend their Macmillan Coffee Afternoon to support those providing physical, financial and emotional support to help people live life as fully as they can.

Secret Angels is a not-for-profit organisation set up to help empower the communities of Wolverhampton to transform their lives.

What a pleasure to be invited to a City Diversity Celebration at the Halls where some talented children performed amazing theatrical acts.

Such a wide diversity of culture on display represents exactly the kind of Wolverhampton I love living in.

It was my honour to represent my constituency at Sunday's Civic Remembrance Service, and lay a wreath as the Member of Parliament for Wolverhampton West.

Today, we pause to remember all those who have died in service of our country, and express gratitude to the brave personnel who continue to serve.

We will never forget the sacrifice and service of those who defended our country and fought for our freedom.
