The discussion explored safeguarding concerns, the influence of social media on behaviour and well-being, and the challenges parents and schools face in regulating children’s online activity.

It's World Book Day!

Schools across the constituency and beyond will be hosting events today to encourage reading for fun.

The Government has committed to 2026 being the National Year of Reading, which aims to tackle a decline in people reading for pleasure.

We discussed why specialist residential treatment remains essential for those experiencing the most severe gambling harms, the specific and often complex needs of women in recovery and the critical role of experienced third-sector providers alongside the NHS.

Pleased to have visited Gordon Moody's residential treatment centre in Wolverhampton last week.

They help tackle gambling-related harm, and it was insightful to discuss first-hand the power of truly person-centred, trauma-informed care.

This Labour Government is lowering the energy costs for families across Wolverhampton West.

Several schools in my constituency have signed up to this programme, and I look forward to visiting them to see it in action there.

Teaching young people about financial literacy is so important, and it was amazing to see a lesson in practice where the pupils were being taught about essential financial skills such as compound interest. I even learnt a thing or two myself!

We need to work with social media companies to ensure that such hateful posts do not appear on their platforms, and the perpetrators are banned from the sites.

I have written to Kanishka Narayan MP, Minister for AI and Digital Government, to request a meeting to discuss the appalling, racist abuse that footballers from the Premier League suffered on social media.

4 years today since Russia’s outrageous invasion of Ukraine started, Labour always say “Slava Ukraini” ✊🏽

I am sure we all send our best wishes to Ukrainians everywhere, not least with Wolverhampton’s Ukrainian Centre in Graiseley.

I have practised Martial Arts myself at various points in my life, so it is something I am so pleased to see so many young people in my constituency engaging in.

They provide a free Saturday class specifically for women, attract around 50 students every week and provide work experience and mentoring opportunities to young people.

Pleased to have visited the Wolverhampton Brazilian Jiu Jitsu dojo in Blakenhall with Councillor Sally Green during recess last week.

I will be taking this matter forward in Parliament to see how we can prevent such abuse, work with social media companies to identify perpetrators, and support football clubs and players to take action.

Let me be clear. There is no place for racism in football or anywhere else in society. Whether it is my own football club or someone else's, nobody deserves to be subjected to that sort of abuse.

I spoke to Ed James on Radio West Midlands this morning about the racist abuse directed at Wolverhampton Wanderers player Tolu Arokodare following the fixture against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

So pleased to have hosted a Business Roundtable at the Mount Hotel this week.

A thriving business community is absolutely vital to the success of Wolverhampton West. From creating jobs and driving innovation to supporting local supply chains and strengthening the wider economy.

University of Wolverhampton alumna given award by Princess Royal Maddison Walker has recieved the Patron's Award for her journey through education in Wolverhampton.

It was fascinating to hear about the impact that senior leader apprenticeships can have. Maddison is an incredible example of the transformational power of adult education.

Maddison recently won a Patron's award from Princess Anne in recognition of her incredible journey through adult education.
