Orange Wolverhampton is the city's contribution to the United Nationsβ annual Orange The World campaign.
16 days of action to end violence against women and girls (VAWG) between 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and 10 December (UN Human Rights Day).
Very impressed with the enthusiasm of the young people, hopefully there were some future MPs in the audience.

It's UK Parliament Week!
Really glad to have been invited to Tettenhall College to kickstart KS2's week of activities learning about UK Democracy.
I was asked so many different questions, from how are new laws are made to what the difference is between the House of Commons and House of Lords.
And remember, this is all part of our wider plan to rebuild Great British Railways, in public hands.

So I am encouraged that Labour is taking this step to keep household costs down.

It is Monday morning, and I will shortly be on my way back to Westminster. But today, something is different.
We have announced that, for the first time since the 1990s, national rail fares will be frozen for a year - and millions of people up and down the country will see the benefit.

It was a privilege to formally open the Wolverhampton 'Kick Diabetes Out of the UK' Football Tournament last Saturday at Tettenhall College.
The tournament was held in recognition of World Diabetes Day, and was the first of its kind within Wolverhampton.

Last week, I welcomed Josh MacAlister MP, Minister for Children, Families and Wellbeing of the United Kingdom, to Wolverhampton West.

It was my honour to host another Caste Discrimination Briefing in Parliament last week.
A special thanks to Apache Indian for his attendance, who has a new song which addresses caste discrimination, written for the Anti Caste Discrimination Alliance (ACDA).
A key aim of their new degree is for students to shape the future of journalism and enable those whose voices are not usually heard in the media to be recognised and included, leading to greater social justice.
