How is it fair that strangers can be more thoughtful than blood relations?

People always say when you remove yourself from a difficult situation, emotionally or physically, that your recovery will look a lot like neglect. Sleepy, hungry, etc. with time everything will balance out.

I'm feeling anxious. Can't pinpoint a reason why.

I feel like it's been such a long time since I've actually indulged in my emotions... I don't know whether doing so is helping or harming. On paper: yes you should feel your feelings. But if doing so is detrimental.. what then?

I think we are all just little lessons for each other,, how to be kinder, patient, more empathetic. Just because someone has failed their lesson with you does not mean you- as a breathing, living soul full of love- deserve anything resembling apathy or hate.

my biggest 2024 breakthrough: discovering that scarecrows aren't real. crops are just SO much easier to steal now. i used to pull up one or two turnips and run off, but i'm not scared anymore. the only challenge ahead of me in 2025 is to keep from eating so many turnips i give myself a stomach ache

Absolutely. If everything existed in a vacuum, in a "perfect" world- sure! Maybe you could argue that! But unfortunately the justice system is flawed. People are flawed. Nothing can or ever will be that cut and dry 🙃
