Northern type. Calling me a socialist tells me more about you than it says about me. Struggling optimist. Low Asshat tolerance. Day job working for the Capitalist Overlords pays for my art supplies.

"Also, you would be prettier if you smiled more." Seriously?

We need diverse representation not
only so every kid can see themselves
as the hero of the story, but so that
every kid can understand that
*other* kinds of kids are *also* the
heroes of the story.

We need diverse representation not only so every kid can see themselves as the hero of the story, but so that every kid can understand that *other* kinds of kids are *also* the heroes of the story.

Representational diversity is important not just for minority kids to see themselves represented, but for the majority kids to understand that they're not the only ones that can be the center of an interesting story.

Daughters are no longer raised to be wives.
They're raised to be people. And some people are really not okay with that.
They're not being taught to sacrifice themselves for the comfort of others. Not being told that marriage is the finish line.
Not being conditioned to make themselves smaller to be loved. They're being raised to earn their own money, choose their own timing, live alone if they need to, and not apologise for wanting more. They're building lives where love is welcome but not begged for. They're questioning things their mothers had to silently accept.
They're choosing healing, not just habits.
And for people who are used to obedience, that kind of freedom looks like defiance.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

I know. I find the interface a bit confusing. When I go to your post, I can see the sequence, though. Gawd, don't tell me we are now the people yelling at kids to get off our lawns. πŸ˜€

Obviously written by an intern who still has a soul. How do we know? Full sentences and no capitals.

Pierre Poilievre has been in politics for 20 years, he's written 0 legislation; has one of the highest pensions in government. He's voted against the environment & climate nearly 400 times, derailed legislation to benefit workers, and voted against affordable housing initiatives.

Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified πŸ₯³

At this point it’s been said in a hundred different ways, so I think people are being intentional about not getting it.

My Fitbit seems to classify lying in bed at 4 in the morning, staring into the Abyss, as "sleeping ".

I assure you, Fitbit, it is not.

I apologize that I have no cute cat pictures to share due to a lack of cute cats. I think my neighbours might object if I started posting pictures of their cats.

Any body else having twinges of anxiety over deleting their X account? I know it became a hell scape, but what if the oligarchy says something important and we miss it?
