Could we be looking in the wrong direction? Should we stopping looking in our mirrors and start looking at each other, and even those we do not know yet? Have we lost track of the difference in the feeling between trying to make ourselves feel better and making others feel better?

Unlimited entertainment of every kind, streaming, dining, drinking, and whatever else one can add to the overwhelming volume of choices turns out to be inadequate to keep us satiated. Poor us!

Just read an essay titled "The West is bored to death". It proffered that no matter how much prosperity, endless consuming and personal indulgence in all forms eventually loses its stimulating ability.

Just returned from our weekend grocery shopping. A display for corndogs caught my eye. Remember them? Nasty things, they are. But sometimes, I like them. Then, I remembered that the healthiest thing about them is wood stick rammed in them. If you have any good wood stick recipies, pass them along.

So...what would I appreciate from you? I would love to be heckled at my attempts toward humorous insight. I can take it. It will be fun.

I confess I have written and published more than my share of "negative Ned" content. No matter how salient it may have seemed at the time, I also know I did not raise any spirits of the readers. I apologize. And if I can effectively change my tone, I will be more unique in my sharing.

Staying aware and informed is certainly wise and important. But I be careful not to be yet another voice of doom and gloom.

There is no shortage of ideas, experiences and insights that we can poke fun at without demeaning others. They happen in our lives every day. I resolve to pay more attention to them. I also resolve to tune out more of the negative noise so prevalent at this time.
