after playing lower levels for so long and not really having proper set up to deal sneak attacks, I've *finally* reached a point where I can sneak attack/crit without much of a partner.
I became the solo melee after some people left the table, so I've been picking stuff to proc off-guard solo
you know what's very satisfying?
Getting a crit as a Rogue in PF2E and seeing all the dice roll--
Ooh shiny clack clack big numbers--
Yeah, this is quite a grim-dark campaign, and the overarching thing my DM has repeated to us is "actions - or inactions - have consequences"

Another NPC, our boss, right before a major assignment, also said to the remnants that as we cannot give the dead a funeral, we are to give them purpose.
Not only that, but A-Team was also cut in half, as half of the players had to drop due to scheduling and time constraints. The DM wove into the story that the PCs who left actually resigned, some from guilt, some from trauma.
The remaining PCs are now the remnants of the investigation teams, and
incomplete leads, and just not having enough time in game (which was the theme of this section of the campaign), we failed in capturing him. The crime lord heard our plans, and decided to send us a message by murdering most of the B-Team, leaving only two survivors.

It's not a standard campaign - the party is a team of officers tasked with protecting the country from internal and external threats (think fantasy FBI). In our office, we had two main investigation teams, A and B. A-Team is the party, and B-Team is NPCs that we all grew close with in various ways

There's so many important things that happened in my current campaign, but i think the one that's defining our party atm is the failure of stopping a crime lord and the consequences after; though I'll have to explain a bit to elaborate on the setting of the campaign
Her /lovely/ ex is one of the execs of Arasaka, has been stalking her since the breakup, to the point of arranging her older brother's death and putting her in extreme debt to keep her tied down. She's been in hiding ever since, but that debt ain't gonna pay itself, and you can't hide forever in NC-

She's a netrunner and former shut-in turned defacto leader of her megabuilding's local edgerunners.
Man, I thought my computer was going crazy - couldn't use other windows for some reason without repeatedly resizing/moving them, couldn't even use alt-tab

Man, I need to start prepping for my boy Gogmazios... Y'ALL DON'T KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM TO SEE HIM AGAIN.
NOW IF THEY CAN BRING BACK NAKARKOS AS WELL I'LL BE OVERJOYED

Silvius, my PC, has about 2 things he's endured that I'd consider painful for him, the first is more emotional, and the second is both physical and mental.
This was a really rushed character art, but we had someone last minute join our campaign, so I quickly made some token art for this character - which I will redo properly for the next Act of Zeitgeist

... I may have also contributed to the whole "ascending an NPC into godhood" by pinning (my) failed assassination on a bunch of rowdy drunks who were doing that whole wickerman thing and praising Thames Grimsley.
Nat 1, baby~!
--Thames Grimsley has ascended to godhood, because his GF made a whole book in her drunken stupor of why we should all worship her boyfriend.
Said gf, a player, is a cleric, and has substituted all her prayers to her god, and redirected it to her bf.
you know how there is always this one npc in your dnd table that somehow the PCs get super attached to?
for my table, its a man named Thames Grimsley - started out as an ordinary dock worker, friendly chap. Ended up getting romanced by a PC, and a few drunken nights later--

And in a way, in my current campaign, due to the events that happened because of those consequences, regardless if it was our faults or not, it caused all our PCs to bond together in a found family way--
My DM also describes his campaigns as "anti-escapism" - he always stresses to us that action - or in-action - has consequences, and tries to make our characters' struggles feel real and personal to who they are.
It does make our campaigns dark a lot of the times, but it makes things more memorable-
... it kinda doesn't help that I'm the neurotic note taker, and these quotes are staring right back at me...
