gig delivery services basically proof-of-concept'd that people were willing to pay exhorbitant prices for fast food which led to price inflation. it also showed that people are willing to work for scraps, cementing the death of the job security.

the truth of the matter is that companies like doordash, uber, grubhub, etc. contribute in ways to the greater problem of food inaccessibility and the overall problem with the job market and its shift to the "gig" job culture that keeps wealthy people wealthy and the rest of us fucked over.

creating a whole new wave of brand loyalty by using the misfortune of the impoverished so 1. reach white guilt people feel better about themselves blowing money on doordash 2. the poor and impoverished will feel encouraged to spend money on a brand that "helped" them.
