Cryptrio: a game like Tetris but instead of making lines you have to match three shapes of the same kind. The shapes take on the form of monsters - a slime, skeletons, stone lions, dark knights, harpies, wizards, spiders, dragons and more. The game play is taking place in the center of the screen, while the two sides of the screen feature larger art of the monsters from the game like an arcade cabinet.

Pippu - Bauble Quest: A small, family-friendly platformer along the lines of early Kirby games. The screenshot shows the opening cutscene, where the primary antagonists of the game - the Obkins - have arrived in a spaceship to steal the town's sacred baubles. The main character Pippu stands on the ground. She is a small, round black ball with white feet and a white face in a heart shape similar to a barn owl's head. She wears a purple bow on top of her head. The Obkins are little robotic aliens with horizontal cylinders for heads. At each end of the cylinder the obkins have colorful lights which look like cheeks. On top of their heads, they have two little fluffy ears.

Spellworm: A wordsearch game where you play as a cartoony little worm eating his way through a wordsearch letter-by-letter. You must fill the entire grid, and all the letters you eat must create valid words, but you can only cross each square once because spellworm's body fills squares you have already entered. In the screenshot, spellworm is spelling the names of elements from the periodic table.

Gyro Boss DX: My all time favourite game I've ever made. It's a bullet hell where the boss fires wacky weapons at you non-stop from the center of a circle. Your spaceship is locked to the outside of the circle, so you can only orbit clockwise or anti-clockwise around the boss to dodge attacks. The screenshot shows the multiplayer party mode, where up to 4 players can compete to dodge the boss's attacks.

I added some basic control animations for the crocodile to showcase its boxing skills. In the future, I hope it can master long-range weapons like a double-barreled shotgun to make it even more imposing.😄🐊🐊🐊

🤔 All the nominees have particular things, But actually deciding which is the game of the year is a difficult task...

If I have to choose one, I'd go for #astrobot, Whatever it is, they are all great games! 👍🏻👏🏻

I am currently learning Python and C++. These are entry level classes at my college, however, next semester we actually get to pick either C++, PHP, C#, Python, or Java as a language to commit to and I think C# is calling me, although I’ll give Rust a try as well on my own time.

Yeah! I heard UNITE didn’t perform too well, which was unfortunate since I wanted to start on Unity as well.

Which language(s) would you say it’s comparable to?

The engine looks very well designed, I’ll have to look into it once it releases.

Might be worth my time to go ahead and learn Rust once I’m done with C#
