What confuses me tho is what were those Hogwarts Legacy sales from? Harry Potter was beginning to dwindle in popularity and yet that shit somehow broke records suddenly only for it to never really be talked about again. Was it just the infamous temporarily spike of bigots trying to show support?

Well not just that, but also many framing honest concerns as this sudden attempt at defamation. Granted, there are some that can act out of line (some who hear smth's happening with a creator and get excited over it), but it's this lack of nuance on both sides that really gets exhausting to watch.

It can feel honestly pretty fucking selfish because instead of the focus in these kinds of situations feel less about acknowledging the person in question is flawed, and more so everyone worrying if they have to stop supporting the person over something at best pretty trivial

And it’s worse when I saw him respond to the concerns clarifying stuff and you’d see ppl in the comments or replies being like “tsk! I knew he would never be bad, can’t believe people online are so desperate to ruin his career” and it just essentially feels like putting him above criticism 🫩

Saw this happen recently with Markiplier when people brought up concerns on how he seems to rely on ChatGPT for questions and junk, and some ppl were like "how could he do this to us..." like yall never learned from whenever ppl would get criticized posting this under someone getting called out?
