Tomorrow morning is my 13th annual @extralife4kids.bsky.social marathon fundraising stream. How many times do you need to do something before you stop freaking out that you’re not ready for it?

That will be a hell of a milestone, the way paved with so many hours of fun and laughter

I am on track to clear a lifetime total of $100,000 raised. I don't know how that's possible.

My absolute hellscape of a previous job is still affecting me a little, it seems.
Despite a positive/productive first week at my new contract, I just had to go out for a 10-min walk to calm down because the ingrained paranoia of being distrusted and left out on purpose from the last place snuck in.

It actually was ^^ a really good day! So far, so good!

Also trying to ignore the amount of brain-stressing things I have to handle tomorrow (they are all positive things!)
+ Starting new contract role...
+ ...as my first time being a contractor
+ ...with a company in another country
+ ...an hour ahead of me
+ ...that I am flying to for the day tomorrow.

New humidifier bought, now BOTH of us are a whole lot better!

So yes, I very much pay attention to the health of my beloved birds while ignoring my own. But the real message here- don't ignore humidity when it comes to breathing/health stuff!

Me feeling blegh every morning for weeks with an icky throat/sinuses: "Ah, wonderful, springtime ickiness." *ignores it*
Kite (one of my birds) being less alert and active than usual: "Okay, time to investigate what is wrong!"

Result? Humidity in my apartment 30% instead of healthy 40-60%.

Took the time to update and refine stream stuff with the intention of streaming twice a week.
Aaand then my brain had many days of self-destruction.
Aaand then I landed a new job contract.
So...yeah. I don't know if/when streams will happen. I hope so. But I need time to figure things out.

My parents went to a Daiso in Malaysia and found two awesome Mini Brick-like kits!

The Phoenix is stunning... But holy hell is it fragile. I've done a few of these before that had reinforcing bricks in the design, this has BARELY any. Wonderful articulation, though.

I studied A-level psychology (thank you again to the wonderful teacher who convinced me to continue after AS level because I was demoralised by a C-grade), and for the last 3 months have been a recluse due to low mental health.
Seeing this just now *helps*. And made me remember that great teacher.

Working with Ink scripting is the most fun I've ever had with any scripting language. Inky ATE a whole file, I didn't throw my hands up and give up. I recovered what I could, rebuilt the rest, and it's WORKING!
