University of Florida student deported to Colombia following traffic stop
Felipe Zapata Velázquez, 27, has become one of the latest foreign students studying in the United States to be deported.
"Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) said that Zapata Velázquez was detained by ICE and taken to the Krome Detention Center in Miami-Dade.

Texas midwife charged with illegally performing abortions
The case appears to be one of the first in which a health care provider was charged with violating a state abortion ban.
Under Texas' law, a licensed physician can perform an abortion only if the pregnant person's life is at risk or if the pregnancy "poses a serious risk of substantial impairment of a major bodily function." The provider must also attempt to save the fetus.
