A good banana muffin always feels cozy and happy to me. I guess lots of banana muffins from childhood shaped a Pavlovian response.

We have Pizza Hut in Australia but they don’t serve the breadsticks. Every time I eat sad, soggy Australian garlic bread I miss those breadsticks and then here I’m reading Americans just took them for granted. 😭

It just bums me out brands won’t just keep quality and raise the price. I would rather adjust to inflation than buy a lower quality product 😞 My KVD eyeliner also took a hit, and while Clinique blush has held on they downgraded the quality of the brush so I’m babying a 15 year old brush.

So I used the same Tarte eyeshadow palette for 10 plus years (cause expiration dates don’t faze me if it’s not smelly or growing something) and then bought a replacement and goddamn has the quality gone down. Also it seems to have a vanilla perfume now? 😒

I don’t think I can handle another Australian correcting me on the pronunciation of my own name.

Aussie birds are so cute. Saw a grey butcherbird today for the first time (visiting my yard no less!) and he was just the cutest little chonky thing.

I finished stranger things the other night, btw. Season 1 may be my all time favorite season of any show, season 2 was good, hate watched season 3 and 4, actually enjoyed season 5 though it wasn’t perfect. I accept they don’t kill main characters and that the story had to work around that.

Well done. This is something on my to do list but I suspect it’ll take ages. I’ve been bringing back boxes and albums from my mothers whenever we visit home but I haven’t gotten past the “which scanner” research stage due to time. Did you get anything special or just using your existing flatbed?

This is extremely nostalgic for me. Funny how the brain works when viewing film photography. It’s not like when I lived 2001 DC that little bit of texture was there but it feels right somehow.

The idea of hearing the phone or doorbell ring and being both excited to answer and happy to hear from the person on the other end is completely lost to time by culture shifts and scammers or sales people.

Fortunately it’s a lease through work so I can drop it like a hot rock in 3 years if it’s not working out. Will become the leasing company’s problem to resell it. I don’t envy anyone trying to sell a Tesla they bought themselves.

So I mostly enjoy mine (save for a few quirks with the interface) but if sales keep declining I expect the UI will fall behind or stagnate over time. If they could just drop Musk I feel like the company could recover, but who knows? I’m sure he’d be very destructive if he was ejected.

I was thinking Iran was most likely actually. You likely wouldn’t get that news there but they’ve been interfering in Australia recently. We expelled the Iranian ambassador recently over it. We’ve had antisemitic attacks and vandalism which turned out to be by people paid to do it.

Terror attack in Australia tonight. Gonna guess funded by an enemy state given the details so far. I’m dreading the victims will be a lot of children.

This country has shown me such kindness. For someone to come here, see this beautiful culture, and want to destroy it, takes a truly ruined mind.

Art and music is good. In this age I’m uplifted to hear people are still creating. It can be hard with how the landscape has changed. AI is weird, digital marketing and influencing is weirder.

I had a Caesar but I opted for the luxury of paying for a private hospital room that was like a mid hotel suite (big bed for couple, mini fridge, Nespresso machine, and three meals a day included). It was expensive but not very (cost about as much as staying in Sydney CBD 2-3 nights).

This is especially stupid given how much choice you have in Australia. You can go home immediately after birth if you want. Water births are common and easy if you want them. I didn’t look into rich lady hippie birth centers but I trust they exist.

Hahaha… omg hearing the death rattle. Just pulled my AirPods out after a lift (KMFDM cause KMFDM), order a drink (iced chai latte with soy cause seriously try it) and can barely hear the poor youth behind the counter.

Guess I’m the age where I need to tone that down. Time comes for us all. 💀
