re: Job system - you should check out the GLoG. I think there's tech there that you'd want to adapt if you were thinking about this sort of thing in an RPG space.

In terms of mote attrition, it's a fucking bargain on my side.

I'd do a similar trick with Exalted. Grapple an enemy, Soaring Crane Leap into the air for 1 mote, and drop his ass for a buttload of falling damage.
