The recent ICE raid which emptied an entire apartment building was apparently at the request of Wells Fargo, which is trying to foreclose on the building.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.
this feels like forty years ago but it was 2023

We’re in such a profoundly post-political moment that politics has been reduced to punishing communities that exist in opposition to the state, and then posting about it. There is no agenda beyond public sadism, in part b/c the right has already won so much.

It's shocking. Read all the articles. Get angry if you weren't already. The war is here.
-the absolute fascist insanity of 300 armed agents, some descending from HELICOPTERS, at 1am
-the fact that they rounded up everyone in the building, busted down doors, detained everyone, held them for hours
-that there was no warrant for this
I've shared multiple articles about the ICE raid at 75th & South Shore Drive because no one of them captures everything important:
-simmering tensions over Venezuelan migrants into a Black neighborhood that is the eviction capital of Chicago
-prior deplorable conditions & lack of maintenance
Just an incredible statement on the durability of arts and culture in a place that is not recognized for its contributions nearly enough
