As Congress considers public media cuts, here’s how federal dollars are spent in Minnesota The rescission bill that passed in the House Thursday would strip 16 organizations in Minnesota of more than $17 million. The bill now moves to the Senate, where it needs a simple majority to pass.

If enacted, it would strip essential services from communities nationwide and could force rural stations off the air entirely. As reported by MPR, if this package passed, it will slash $17,228,752 across 16 organizations that work to serve Minnesotans.

Despite overwhelming public opposition, the House passed a recissions package that would eliminate $1.1 billion in already-approved funding for public media. The Senate could take up this recissions package as early as this week! #protectmypublicmedia
