What did baboons do to upset you so much?

01.12.2025 16:04 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Why is there no similar move to ban social media taking place in the UK? Oh yeah, Starmer and co are owned by the tech broligarchy
01.12.2025 15:01 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Where the hell was Chris Masonโs judgement during the Brexit Referendum? Where was it during the 2019 GE Campaign? Where was it during the height of Covid when ministers were partying? Not once before have he or his colleagues decide to exercise their judgement and tell the nation the truth.
01.12.2025 13:43 โ ๐ 11 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1Is this week a watershed in the Brenter debate? The Times on Wednesday and now the Sunday Telegraph both explicitly stating Brexit was a disaster and itโs time to admit it
30.11.2025 10:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Why? Because Corbyn is as big a threat to the UK as Farage. He was never fit to be PM and it cost the left 2 elections - two of the most radical manifestos - and still lost and lost because of him. Heโs a toxic liability. YP wonโt exist by the next GE at this rate.
30.11.2025 08:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Corbyn showing exactly why he wasnโt fit to be PrimeMinister. Sultana acting like a spoiled brat/prima donna. Literally no oneโs party.
30.11.2025 08:48 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The many faces of Farage:
Farage the Fรผhrer;
Farage the fascist;
Farage the fleecer;
will Farage the felon ever surface?
Thereโs daft, thereโs mad, thereโs totally whacko and then thereโs the Office of Rail and Road. Heidi Alexander needs to step in and bang heads over this - a train will run 5x a week - Manc to London - WITHOUT passengers!!!
29.11.2025 09:17 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1Yay!! I couldnโt be there but Sergei & the Westminster Spy Ring just won gold at the APA podcast awards!!
Whole thing was crowdfunded by @the-citizens.bsky.social to highlight 5-year legal case to get an investigation into Russian interference in UK politics. Power to the people!
Well worth signing AND sharing. Time to root out the truth about Russian influence! petition.parliament.uk/petitions/74...

27.11.2025 07:03 โ ๐ 148 ๐ 67 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 1I just watched Reevesโs speech in full for the first time. This line did make me laugh but then I thought โwhy isnโt Blackrod marching Farage straight to jail, denying him his ECHR rights and leaving him there. See how he fares. โ
26.11.2025 22:44 โ ๐ 13 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Atypical of the ๐๐ฉ MSM references in my first post above. Ben Wilkinson from the Times bemoaning his loss of salary sacrifice.
26.11.2025 21:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Not just businesses but govts and potentially whole economies, defences, transport systems and more, much more, could literally implode because of AI Misuse
26.11.2025 19:30 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Great piece and very welcome insights on the risks of going hell for leather in chase of the AI Holy Grail use case. Itโs going to backfire and bite many businesses very hard on the ๐ and cost them an existential fortune in some cases
26.11.2025 19:25 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Declaration of interests:-
I own an EV
I earn 6 figures
I save into a cash ISA
I benefit from salary sacrifice on my pension
Iโd have raised income tax - a lot AND the โcould have done moresโ I reference above.
10/ Minimum wage rise - to be welcomed
11/ no designer cars on Motability -should not be an issue for anyone.
Could have done more on fossil fuel producers, multinationals who donโt pay tax if they hide debt here, full on asset taxes and an exit tax on assets removed from the UK but overall a B-
8/pension salary sacrifice - one I donโt agree with as it will disincentivise people from accumulating a decent pension pot. I make wide use of it but Iโll be retired before it kicks in.
9/ tax threshold freeze - nothing new and a way of increasing tax take without increasing tax rates
5/ EV mileage - ยฃ360 a yr for average mileage driver. For those who can afford an EV itโs not a lot and way cheaper than fuel duty for the same distance travelled
6/ reinstatement of child benefit - about time; a win for the left
7/ Cash ISAs - if you can save >12k pa you can pay tax on the interest
1/ increase in dividend tax - tough, get over it and pay your share
2/ Mansion tax - a start but no where near the needs for wealth asset tax
3/ Tourist tax - itโs pennies and aligns us with pretty much the rest of the world
4/ sports betting/gambling - the right industry to hammer
This was much more of a budget Iโd expect from a Labour chancellor. Itโs not enough - for progressives budgets rarely have been but my thoughts:-
26.11.2025 19:13 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Interesting budget after time to digest it. I donโt think Iโve ever heard as much ๐๐ฉ reaction from the MSM to a budget in my lifetime. As for Bad Enoch saying Reeves is worst chancellor ever I think she must have forgotten Crazy Kwarteng.
26.11.2025 19:13 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I wouldnโt suggest relying on the MSM to talk about it at all. But progressives need to fish where the fish are and get this outcome Facebook, insta, TikTok etc - Farage voters donโt typically use BlueSky. This is a much bigger challenge as many of us donโt use TikTok or Meta products either
26.11.2025 11:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Similar story at Lancashire CC - just donโt read that as LFC. Things are bad enough at Liverpool this season thank you!
26.11.2025 11:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Telling that no classmates or even any friends from his younger days have come out to defend him
26.11.2025 08:25 โ ๐ 127 ๐ 9 ๐ฌ 6 ๐ 0There are c20% of voters who are openly or covertly racist in my view and no, we wonโt change their minds. We may not change the minds of many people who just donโt think. But thereโs a share of people thinking of voting RefUK in protest - we must reach them; they make the difference to a RefUK win
26.11.2025 08:21 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Attacking judicial independence by removing judges from trials - is a Labour Party policy
26.11.2025 08:01 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ah but that wasnโt the policy was it? No, the policy was โcut the cost of benefitsโ and it wasnโt the Tories. And my point was - back in 2017 could you have remotely thought this would be Labour policy?
