I always used to joke that if I ever wanted to retire I could just open a bagel/deli/pizzeria in my old home town in NC. But I’m way too lazy to do that.

I can almost always find a footlong for 6.99 coupon but even still.

I’m a New Yorker, we have indie deli and bagel joints everywhere. But they are expensive.

A BLT at subway here is $11-12 if you don’t have a coupon code. Any sandwhich at our local deli is about $14-18

I think it has to do with the fact that if we go out for blood, we get put in a state of insurrection, and marshal law…and then they suspend future elections and legally kidnap anyone opposed. That alone is why this hasn’t turned into a true warzone.
